Saint Juliana School parents have joined together to form a Home and School Association.

The objectives of this Association are:

  • To promote goodwill and cooperation between and among parents, faculty, administration, School Board and the Parish.

  • To provide parents and teachers with the information to aid in all aspects of education, growth, and development.

  • To direct and coordinate parental support to Saint Juliana School through volunteerism, social functions, and fundraising.

MINUTES

Executive Committee

Saint Juliana Home and School Association

 

A regular meeting of the Executive Committee of the Saint Juliana Home and School Association was held on September 12, 2007, at Saint Juliana School Faculty Lounge.  The president and secretary were present.  A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m. 

 

OPENING PRAYER

Father Hernandez led the members in prayer.

 

WELCOME

Congratulations to Tim Lewis, new HSA President.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

The minutes of the previous meeting were distributed.  Cindy Cerbone motioned that the minutes be approved as submitted.  Motion carried.

 

TREASURER’S REPORT – Cindy Cerbone

The treasurer’s report was distributed for review.  

Final Net Revenue for the 2006/2007 school year is $4,576.33.

Net Revenue as of August 2007 is 14,544.

 

AUCTION UPDATE – Serena Brasco

Gift Gathering party set for September 15, 2007 at Lake Lytal Pool. Decision to keep gift amount at $50. There will be a sign up table for those wishing to attend at the general HSA meeting.

 

The Auction will be held at The National Croquet Center on November 15, 2007 from 6-8pm. We will be paying $41 per person for food/venue and $10 per person for the bar.

 

FUTURE FUNDRAISERS – Serena Brasco

We are looking for people to chair the Shamrock Shindig and next years Auction. Lisa Paolo, Volunteer Coordinator, is looking for volunteers. 

 

MAGAZINE DRIVE UPDATE – Serena Brasco

We need to bring in $24,000 on the last day to meet our goal.

 

HSA BOARD VACANCY – Tim Lewis

The office of Vice President is open. The bylaws state that if an office becomes vacant the general membership shall choose a replacement at the next General Meeting from a slate of nominees by the Executive Committee and approved by the Principal. Tim Lewis will announce at the General Meeting on September 12, 2007 that anyone interesting in running for Vice President should notify him. The Executive Committee will prepare the slate at the next Executive Committee meeting scheduled for October 10, 2007 to be presented at the General Meeting on December 12, 2007.

 

Discussion of new voting techniques. Shelly Mayes and Lori Wilkinson will present new options (one technological and one manual) at the next Executive Committee meeting.

General Meeting

Saint Juliana Home and School Association

OPENING PRAYER

Father Hernandez led the members in prayer.

 

WELCOME

Tim Lewis was introduced as new HSA President. Tim announced the opening of the Vice President position and asked anyone interested to contact him. Elections should take place in December.

 

PRINCIPAL UPDATE – Serena Brasco

There have been some computer problems and edline has been down. Some e-mails have been lost and no grades were posted this week. See Lori Wilkinson if you are having problems with edline.

 

Christian Lopez the new karate instructor still has openings if anyone is interested.

 

It is not too late to join the band.

 

Martha Garcia is a new Title 1 teacher at St. Juliana.

 

AUCTION UPDATE – Wendy Fernsell and Caroline Momper

There is a sign up table in the back for the gift gathering party this Saturday at Lake Lytal Pool.
