General Information
HISTORY:
- Saint Juliana School was opened in 1952.
- Diocese of Palm Beach formed in 1984.
- Accredited by Florida Catholic Conference and renewed every 7 years.
CURRICULUM:
- SJS follows the Sunshine State Curriculum adopted by the Diocese of Palm Beach.
- IOWA Test of Basic Skills administered to grades 3-8 each October.
- FCAT is a state-developed testing system, and is not given at SJS.
- All students receive daily religion instruction and attend Mass weekly.
- The sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion are received in 2nd grade.
- All students take Music, Media, Art, Computer, Physical Education, and Spanish.
FACULTY AND ADMINISTRATION:

- All faculty members are state certified in area of teaching. (Early childhood, elementary, middle grade subject area, fine arts, etc.)
- Full-time teacher assistants in grades PreK through 2
CLASS SIZE:
- FCC Accreditation Standards.
- 2 Classrooms per grade.
- Pre-K-3 has a maximum of 20 and Pre-K-4 has a maximum of 24 students with teacher and full time assistant.
- Kindergarten has a maximum of 30 students with teacher and full time assistant.
- 1st through 8th Grades have a maximum of 30 students; Grades 1 and 2 with full time teacher assistant.
Enrollment at current time is 404 students

- State of the art Media Center, Computer Lab and Science Lab.
- Additional computers in each classroom.
- Internet access in computer lab and classrooms. (Firewall protected)

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
- Cafeteria, clinic, Helping Hands, Auction, Shamrock Shindig, crossing guards.
- Must volunteer 15 hours per year.
- Two major fundraisers each year -
Magazine Drive and Auction
DISCIPLINE:
- Mission is to promote self-discipline, respect for others and self, and living as Jesus taught.
EXTENDED DAY CARE:
- 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. every day. $150.00 monthly per child. ($125.00 for 2nd Child)
- Teacher supervised homework hour for grades 3-8.
LUNCH:
- Hot lunch program 5 days a week.
ATHLETICS:
- Catholic School Athletic League.
- Junior Varsity sports for Grades 4-6 (basketball girls and boys).
- Varsity sports for Grades 6-8 (basketball girls and boys, cheerleading, softball, flag football, soccer,
volleyball).
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
- Brownies, Dance, News Team, Safety Patrol, Student Council, Hand bell Choir, Middle School Youth Group.
- National Junior Honor Society.
- National Junior Art Honor Society.
RESOURCE DEPARTMENT:
- Enrichment and remediation offered in small groups.
